New documentary project in development focused on Pittsburgh Afro-Cuban band
I am pleased to announce that the next project that Spinning Goat is developing is an in-depth feature documentary about Pittsburgh band, Guaracha Latin Dance Band. This documentary will have many facets, but will focus on the history of the band and its members since the 1980s (they brought the Salsa sound to Pittsburgh) and the African roots of their music and heritage.
While this is still in the pre-production phase, I will be filming their show at Howlers, 4509 Liberty Ave, 15224 on August 22nd, which will serve as an unofficial kickoff of filming for the project. So, come on down and check them out!!!
