Tonight, Spinning Goat Productions is hosting a special debut screening of TRANS: in the Proud Haven office at 5132 Butler Street in Lawrenceville. It is a smaller office that holds 24 people, seated, so we haven’t spread the word as far and wide as we’d like, haha.
Stop down at 6:30 pm to mingle and snack before the film at 7 pm! Discussion and socializing after the film until 8:30 pm.

Now that the feature documentary TRANS: profiles of the Transgender community is finished, the next step is for people to see it!!
I am in process of planning local screenings in Pittsburgh – all free to the public – and compiling a list of film festivals to submit to, in the US and overseas. So far, the documentary has been submitted to ReelQ Film Festival in Pittsburgh and Los Angeles Documentary Film Festival (DOC LA).
Since I have no funding for this film, I am launching an indiegogo campaign to raise money for film festival entry fees (averaging $50/entry), to cover venue rental fees for screenings (when sponsorships aren’t possible), compensate artists and speakers who perform at select film screenings, and promotional materials for the film. A great set of perks are being developed, so look out for the launch of that campaign on July 1!
Note: there is a special intimate screening at Proud Haven’s office in Lawrenceville on June 29, 2017 at 6:30 pm. Seating is limited at 24, but please stop by! Doors at 6:30, with film screening from 7-8. Discussion and socializing after the film.

Trailer for the upcoming documentary feature is now available online!
In February 2017, I sat down with Ciora Thomas and Jude Benedict Ess to talk about their experience being Transgender. A short film (available online) was originally made for a local film festival, and focuses on the Trans identity and what that means for each Trans person.
Since April 2017, I’ve worked with Ciora and Jude to complete a longer film, with more of Ciora’s and Jude’s stories and wisdom, as well as a focus on issues facing the Transgender community in Pittsburgh and beyond. This 57 minute film will begin screening in summer 2017.
A special thanks to Proud Haven for helping in the early stages to make this film a reality.
